New Blood are a challenging trio comprising just two saxophones and percussion. The music tends to go from extremes - from beautiful, meditative evocations to thrash-riffing noise.
New Blood are hoping to get to Poland, Denmark and Germany in September 2000. With funding from Arts Victoria or Aust. Arts Council they will be there - anyone wanting to know more or offer assistance please make contact.
New Blood won the award for Best Music Award for the 1999 Melbourne Fringe Festival for their gig at Bar Open, Nth Fitzroy. In September 1999 New Blood toured to Sydney for a gig presented by SIMA (Sydney Improvised Music Association) and played with Cameron Undy, as well as appearing in Albury and Newcastle.
New Blood most often works at places like Bar Open, Empress Hotel, Planet Cafe, National Hotel (Geelong), with an occasional appearance at Bennett's Lane, or Grainery lane or L'espresso in Ballarat
